Propaganda & Royal Authority: In ancient Rome and Greece, coins were "silent ambassadors". Rulers used them to broadcast military victories, showcase their divine blessing from the gods, or announce a new emperor's coronation to a wide, mobile audience.

commemorative coins are introduced in united states in the year 1893. In India the
journey of these coins was begin in the year 1964. the term commemorative means
to recall an event or to give respect to a person. In India the first commemorative
coin which was featuring the portrait of India’s first prime minister
Jawaharlal Nehru who had served India from 15 of august 1947 to until his
death may 1964. The coin features portrait of Jawaharlal Nehru on one rupee and
50 paisa coin. This coin was issued in the year 1964 after his death to
commemorate his services India as prime minister. At the present these coins
were featuring the important events, birth centenary, great personality persons,
scientists, poets and temples of India. Now some of the coins are birth centenary
of father of nuclear physics DR Homi Jehangir Bhabha, first Indian poet who was
awarded for his book renowned spiritual writings ‘Gitanjali’ Rabindranath
Tagore,
Acharya Tulsi and one hundred of RSS. I am here to express about one of the

in 1913 for his literature and he also reshaped the literature of Bengal. interstingly
Indian government issued one fifty rupees coin on his one hundred fiftieth birthday!! His famous quotations are "Clouds come floating into my life,
no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset
sky."
